1. Youth in Care Education Bursary - Application information attached

Please find attached the application form for the 2013 FCSSBC Youth Education Bursary.

The Youth in Care Bursary was established by Federation members in 2009, as a means to encourage young people to develop a career in our sector. The bursary program supports young people 25 or younger who are currently, or were once, in government care and who want to pursue post-secondary education towards a career in the social services, health, education or social justice fields. Students are welcome to apply over multiple years as we share a long-term interest in their studies and development into social service professionals.

Last year we did not receive a great many applications - please forward this to as many of your contacts as possible, and encourage and support eligible youth to apply!  Applicants do not need to be affiliated with a Federation member agency to apply.  Please note that youth applying for the fund must have an educational plan that relates to a career in the fields of social services, health, education or social justice.

For more information about the bursary please see our website at http://www.fcssbc.ca/about/youth-bursary. We are still experiencing problems with our website, but the application will be posted on the website as soon as possible.  You will also find a poster attached - please display it prominently in your organization.

Thank you for your help in spreading the word about this opportunity.  We apologize for any cross-postings.
